Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated School Counselor to join our team at Podar International School, Gaya

As a fresher, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' psychological and educational needs

This is a full-time position for candidates with work experience from 0 to 1 year

The job is located in Gaya and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can make a real difference in students' lives.

Qualifications And Skills

Must have a degree in MA psychology (Mandatory skill) and experience as a school counselor (Mandatory skill) for a comprehensive understanding of student psychology and counseling methodologies.

Strong skills in counseling with the ability to provide tailored advice and support to students to help them overcome educational challenges and personal issues.

Proficiency in psychology with an educational background in MSc psychology for understanding cognitive and emotional behavior in children and adolescents.

Fluent in English communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff, ensuring clear and constructive communication.

Ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and confidentiality while maintaining professional boundaries within the counseling process.

Experience in developing and conducting workshops or group sessions to address common student concerns or promote emotional wellbeing.

Skilled in coordinating with teachers and parents to monitor and support student progress within the educational environment.

Familiarity with educational and psychological testing methods for evaluating student academic performance and emotional health.

Roles And Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to help students address academic, emotional, and personal issues.

Develop and implement counseling programs that support students' mental health and promote a positive school environment.

Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify and address student issues.

Maintain records of counseling interactions while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.

Assess students' needs through observations, interviews, and evaluations to determine the best course of action.

Coordinate with external mental health services and refer students for further psychological support when necessary.

Design and deliver workshops for students on topics such as stress management, self-esteem, conflict resolution, and career planning.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in school counseling.
