The vacancy is for the position of Senior Manager in Management Consulting. Nature of projects done in Management Consulting are:

• Business process reengineering
• Process & internal controls consulting
• ERP & process implementation
• Process automation
• Employee performance management systems, etc.
• Financial feasibility & investor pitches for startups

The candidate will lead client team(s) for the above types of projects. The role varies based on the nature of the project, but would broadly include:

Team Management:

• Responsible for delivery of the engagements in consulting as per agreed terms and firms quality standards.
• Manage a team of Seniors and ensure delivery of the consulting engagements - including scoping of project, project proposal, As-Is understanding, providing process solution, Finalizing To-be, Implementing proposed solution
• Plan & schedule client engagements. Determine and deploy the right team with adequate skill sets for executing engagements and periodically review status of engagements.
• Mapping business requirements to technical and functional requirements and conduct vendor assessment as a part of the broader transformation requirements

Client Management:

• Executive-level skills in client relationship management and the hold conversations with senior executives.
• Excellent client communication and meeting presentation to be done.
• Contribute to new solution development based on the industry trends and clients problem statement
• Create innovative insights for clients, adapts methods & practices to fit operational team needs & contributes to thought leadership documents.

Operational Excellence:

• Suggest ideas on improving engagement productivity and identify opportunities for improving client service.
• Manage engagement budgets and ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality standards

People related:

• Display teamwork, integrity and leadership. Work with team members to set goals and responsibilities for specific engagements. Foster teamwork and innovation.
• Utilize technology & tools to continually learn and innovate, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery.
• Conduct workshops and technical training sessions for team members. Contribute to the learning & development agenda and knowledge harnessing initiatives.

Business Related:

• Engage in new client conversations & contribute to winning new projects or engagements. Deliver with quality, the desired results and achieve project objectives effectively contributing to winning further engagements or referrals from client.
• Participate in seminars, knowledge sessions, events and associations to initiate new client relationships.

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualification does not matter.
• Consulting / internal audit / ERP implementation / process excellence / process improvement / business process reengineering experience is mandatory in any boutique firm (have given names of boutique CA/consulting firms in the last point)
• Someone who was running their own CA firm and is no longer wanting to continue or wishes to merge is also a great option we can get them for a more senior role compared to Senior Manager
• Any Big4 candidate looking to leave Big4 is also a great option. Apart from Big4, RSM/BDO/GT, etc. is also ok we can get them for a more senior role compared to Senior Manager
• Senior process / operations consulting professionals from outside Chennai also works can hire them at more senior roles
• Retired senior people in Chennai who were senior executives at manufacturing cos / IT cos / any other companies looking for part-time consulting roles will be a good fit – need to hired for a different designation, but will be a good fit within the department nevertheless
• 8-10 years of experience; 4+ years in case of big 4.
• Candidates can be from
• Manufacturing companies who have been responsible for managing operations and or process improvements/new initiatives etc
• Internal audit professionals in consulting or corporate companies managed a team of internal audits with or without CA
• ERP implementation professionals who have implemented ERP solutions (SAP, Darwinbox, MS Dynamix, Genisys, etc.)
• Process improvement consultants or managers from industry (exposure to finance and process in any industry)
• Preferred to have technical knowledge about leading ERPs such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.
• Strong multi-project management skills and client management including building relationship for executive level client employees
• Managed a team of over 10 people as a consulting manager/leader
• Cognitive problem solving capabilities, quick decision making skills and ability to handle complex situations with a calm demeanor
• Exceptional command on spoken and written English
• Flexible to travel to client locations
• Age preferably above 30years
• A strong and demonstrated interest and experience in consulting industry for a minimum of 8 years
• Experience of managing multiple projects in the operations, process, finance vertical
• Leadership capabilities including managing team, resources, planning, strategic thinking etc
