Job Overview
Responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and reliability initiatives within the company s Process equipment, Utilities and Facilities.
Ensures optimal performance of equipment and facilities
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain cGMP standards and align with production, safety, and quality requirements
Develop strategies to reduce the plant s environmental impact, focusing on energy consumption, waste management, and water use reduction
Key Stakeholders: Internal
Production , Supply Chain, Finance, Warehouse, HR/QA, QC & Validation
Key Stakeholders: External
Govt Departments, Regulatory Agencies, Suppliers, Vendors
Reporting Structure
Repots to site Head & Global Head of Engineering & Projects
Experience
15 years in a Pharmaceutical Formulation Facility
Should have independently handled engineering and maintenance functions of manufacturing unit involved in drug products (sterile and non-sterile dosage forms. Strong understanding of cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements
Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
Engineering & Maintenance Leadership:
Lead the engineering and maintenance functions to ensure effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and increase asset reliability.
Oversee a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel, providing direction, support, and development
Reliability Management:
Establish and monitor KPIs related to equipment uptime, maintenance cost, and engineering project performance.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM to optimize production efficiency.
Ensure the organization s engineering and maintenance processes support high utilization of manufacturing assets.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities are in compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
Lead root cause investigations for equipment failures, incidents, or compliance deviations and drive corrective actions.
Promote a culture of safety by implementing EHS standards and maintaining safe working conditions.
Budget Management & Cost Control:
Develop and oversee the department s operational and maintenance budget, ensuring expenditures align with company objectives.
Implement cost-saving strategies in maintenance operations without compromising on quality, safety, or compliance.
Sustainability & Environmental Initiatives:
Develop strategies to reduce the plant s environmental impact, focusing on energy consumption, waste management, and water use reduction.
Implement energy-efficient technologies and work closely with the EHS team to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Build partnerships with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely support for critical equipment and manage key OEM relationships
