Job Description
We are looking for designers who are as passionate about strategy as they are about craft. You should be able to collaborate we'll with both internal and external design stakeholders. And at the same time you should be someone who takes accountability and responsibility seriously.
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- 1 - 3 years of experience in Digital Product Design. Working on consumer products would be an additional advantage. BTW, it doesnt really matter if you are not from fintech, but we certainly dont mind it if you are!
- An obsession to create intuitive and beautiful products and experiences that simply work. We will require a portfolio of work to judge this. But don t worry, we won t judge your designer OCD.
- An expert at your craft. Which means you know the difference between user flows, task flows & IA diagrams and can endlessly argue about the relative merits of Figma, Sketch and XD. It would be a bonus if you know exactly how to create super cool micro-interactions using any tool like Principle, AfterEffects or ProtoPie.
- A collaborative team player who can work we'll with Product, Engineering, Business and CX teams to ensure that everyone is aligned with the design vision.
- You should have shipped products and if they have done we'll you should know why. But if they have not done we'll, we expect you to be able to lecture people on how to avoid the pitfalls.
- You should have the ability to talk business. And no, we'do not expect you to wear a suit.
Once here you will:
- Creating fantastic products starts with obsessing about the Why and backing it up with a solid understanding of user needs and behaviour. So do expect a lot of good quality heated discussions and we want someone who is able to walk up to a whiteboard (or online board) and sketch out ideas and solutions.
- These ideas and solutions would need to be built into robust user flows that would take care of every conceivable use case and condition.
- Flows are nothing if they are not translated into screens that are consistent, intuitive but at the same time factor in delight.
- Finally working with the Product and Engineering teams to bring the designs into reality is a crucial part of the designer s journey.
- Howe'ver at PhonePe a designer s journey does not end there. We are looking at designers who are obsessed with numbers and can track both growth and usability issues just by looking at the numbers.
Qualifications:
- At least a degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors or related fields or equivalent practical experience. masters or PhD will be given preference.
- 1 -3 years of experience in a Consumer Product Design, UX Research or a Product Design Services setting.
- Strong fundamentals of visual design and good application of UX principles.
- Experience designing consumer products
- Expert communicator and story-teller
