Offline Business at PhonePe:
The Offline merchant business unit at PhonePe (the country's largest payments platform with more than 350 Mn+ users and a merchant acceptance network of more than 25 Mn+ merchants) is building a large scale and sustainable merchant centred business. The strategic imperative here is to acquire and retain the largest merchant network in the country and grow the revenues from this network.
About the Role:
This role is about owning offline merchants' growth and retention through digital channels. There are large scale app and web-based platforms using which merchants manage their business with us today. The person in this role would be responsible for driving merchant adoption of these platforms and for driving our growth and retention efforts using these platforms.
The person in this role would need to have a strong business acumen and must be able to wear the platform hat when driving various priorities with millions of merchants across the country.

Key Responsibilties:
- Accountable for adoption of our digital platforms (PhonePe business app and dashboard) amongst our merchant partners across segments- small mom and pop stores, regional chains, large enterprises.
- Interface with digital marketing and CRM teams, ideate on the communication approach and channel mix to drive these objectives.
- Utilize the understanding of merchants and the business to craft the communication approach.
- Finalize the budgets for channels and offers in conjunction with the business finance and digital marketing teams.
- Accountable for driving business priorities through this channel with a digital first approach.
These priorities will span across:
- Retention & Growth for PhonePe payments solutions.
- Digitization.
- KYC etc.
- To drive these priorities, one has to design the overall approach, plan communications/offers and budget for the same.
- This has to be followed up by a strong data driven approach to look at the impact of our campaigns and plan for course corrections basis data.
Key Interfaces:
- This role requires one to interface with multiple internal stakeholders like Product, Tech, Digital Marketing, CRM, Sales, Operations to deliver on the above-mentioned priorities
Qualifications/ Skills Required:
- Min 3-7 years of experience in business management/category management roles - Exposure to handling category management roles with large scale platforms is a must.
- This means that one should have done roles involving driving priorities with consumers/merchants through platforms in the e-commerce/food delivery/mobility space or the consumer internet space in general.
- MBA from Tier-1 institutes only: ISB/IIMs/XLRI/SP Jain/MDI/FMS or equivalent
