JOB TITLE: Lead Instrument Engineer -PDH / U&O (Propane to Polymers)

JOB LOCATION: Lagos, Nigeria

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

• Lead Instrument Engineer -PDH / U&O is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independently and manage a team of Instrument Engineers for overseeing the technical aspect of projects and for coordinating the project instrumentation team at the FEED, EPC to Operation phase.
• Review petrochemical projects Instrumentation system design and detailed engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Review design documents of ESD, PLC, DCS, MMS, Fire and Gas detection system of Contractor and MAC also.
• Manage direct reports including managing work allocation, training, mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic. Provide input for establishing internal company policies and procedures and ensure implementation.
• Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out. Participate in HAZOP, SIL, Participate in P&ID and 3D Model review. Advise the Engineering Manager ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues. Provide appropriate guidance as necessary about local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements.
• He shall have the personality and drive to manage independently and also direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives. In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with FEED Engineer, EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work. Good Exposure in LER/Satellite station Engineering phase /construction phase/commissioning phase

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

• Good exposure and sound knowledge engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Review design documents of ESD, PLC, DCS, MMS, Fire & Gas detection system, MAC System of Contractors and design phase. Good Exposure in P&ID and good hold on Controlling system.
• Coordinating with Engineering Contractor Instrumentation team in the design and detailed engineering of petrochemical projects during FEED/ EPC stages till Project completion stage and start-up.
• Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization, Proven conflict resolution skills.

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
