Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. DevOps Strategy & Process Leadership:
    • Lead and define DevOps strategy for the enterprise, ensuring alignment with business objectives and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) best practices.
    • Develop and implement DevOps adoption frameworks across multiple teams, ensuring effective transformation from traditional development models to agile, automated workflows.
    • Oversee the creation and implementation of processes for DevSecOps, ensuring security is integrated throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
  2. Metrics Definition & Tracking:
    • Design and implement metrics collection strategies that track DevOps maturity, adoption, and the effectiveness of automation processes.
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the success of DevOps initiatives, including deployment frequency, lead time for changes, mean time to recovery (MTTR), and other essential metrics.
    • Ensure visibility of metrics across teams and stakeholders, and provide actionable insights to continuously improve DevOps processes.
  3. CI/CD Pipeline Management & Build Automation:
    • Oversee the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
    • Create and maintain global templates for DevOps pipelines across multiple projects, ensuring consistency, scalability, and quality in build and deployment processes.
    • Design and implement build breaker mechanisms for stage gates, ensuring that code quality, security compliance, and testing standards are met before progressing to the next stage.
  4. Process Optimization & Automation:
    • Work closely with engineering teams to identify areas for automation and process improvement in the build, test, and deployment workflows.
    • Define and refine processes to ensure high-quality code delivery, timely releases, and compliance with regulatory or security standards.
    • Optimize existing DevOps workflows and tools to increase the speed, stability, and security of application releases.
  5. Team Collaboration & Coaching:
    • Collaborate with various engineering, development, and security teams to understand their challenges and requirements, and implement DevOps solutions that address their needs.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to DevOps teams in adopting best practices, troubleshooting pipeline issues, and designing solutions for continuous integration and deployment.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, ensuring that teams are always up-to-date on the latest DevOps trends, practices, and tools.
  6. Tooling & Automation Frameworks:
    • Design and maintain automation frameworks using YAML, integrating with tools like GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and other DevOps tools to streamline and automate the delivery lifecycle.
    • Ensure the consistency of processes across all environments (development, test, production) by maintaining standardized automation practices and templates.
  7. Governance & Compliance:
    • Develop governance frameworks to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies while supporting DevSecOps practices.
    • Ensure security standards are embedded into every phase of the DevOps lifecycle, including vulnerability scanning, code analysis, and securing cloud infrastructure.
  8. Stakeholder Reporting & Insights:
    • Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, providing insights on DevOps performance, adoption, and challenges.
    • Present findings and recommendations for optimizing DevOps processes and metrics tracking to executive teams.

Qualifications
  • 14+ years of experience in DevOps, with a proven track record of leading enterprise-level DevSecOps transformations and building scalable CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep expertise in DevOps tools such as GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and advanced experience with YAML for pipeline scripting and configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices, with hands-on experience embedding security within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Expertise in build automation and managing global templates for pipelines and workflows across large enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement build breaker systems for enforcing stage gates, ensuring code quality and security compliance.
  • Experience with DevOps metrics and KPIs, including deployment frequency, lead time for changes, mean time to recovery (MTTR), and change failure rate.
  • Ability to define and implement DevOps strategies and process improvements across large, distributed teams.
  • Strong background in programming languages used for DevOps, such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby, for scripting automation processes.
  • Proven experience in driving DevOps adoption strategies and ensuring the successful transition to DevOps practices in a large organization.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and drive change across multiple teams.

Must have technical knowledge

  • Knowledge on enterprise level DevSecOps flow
  • Deep knowledge of SDLC for various prog languages
  • Deep. knowledge on DevOps metrics and how to extract data to build teh metrics
