Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive indirect procurement strategy aligned with business objectives
- Team management: Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Spend management: Conduct in-depth spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize indirect spend
- Category management: Develop and execute category management strategies for key indirect spend categories including MRO, Capex, and services
- Supplier relationship management: Build strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Process improvement: Implement efficient procurement processes, including e-procurement, to streamline operations and reduce cycle times
- Inventory optimization: Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, improve inventory turnover, and maximize the value of surplus spares through effective sales or disposal
Capex management:
- Oversee the procurement of capital expenditure items
- Ensure timely delivery, cost control, and adherence to industry best practices such as total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, life cycle cost analysis, return on investment (ROI) calculations, and risk assessment
- Stay updated on the latest innovations in oleo-chemistry equipment and machinery
- Identify and implement global best practices to enhance productivity and energy efficiency
- Collaborate closely with production excellence and project teams to align capex investments with operational needs and strategic goals
- Cost reduction: Achieve agreed-upon saving targets through the implementation of various strategic levers such as spend analysis, category management, supplier rationalisation, cost reduction projects and value engineering
- Vendor development: Identify and develop new suppliers, including OEMs, to enhance supply chain resilience and leverage market opportunities
- Safety stock management: Collaborate with vendors to establish safety stock levels for critical Maintenance, Repair and Operation (MRO) items to minimise stockouts
- Lead time reduction: Implement strategies to achieve zero lead times for critical MRO items through improved forecasting, supplier collaboration, and expedited delivery options
- Service and quality: Establish and maintain stringent service level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers, focusing on best-in-class performance
- Vendor database: Build and maintain a comprehensive database of MRO, Capex, contractors, and service providers, including performance metrics and evaluation criteria
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) management: Ensure all SLAs are regularly reviewed, updated, and enforced to maintain optimal supplier performance
- Performance management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance against targets to measure success
- Digital transformation: Lead the implementation of digital procurement tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve decision-making
- Risk management: Develop and implement a robust risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks
- Sustainability: Integrate sustainability principles into procurement processes, including supplier evaluations, sourcing decisions, and promoting circular economy practices for non-moving spares
- Financial management: Oversee the development and management of procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and spending within allocated limits
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement
- Waste management: Develop and implement strategies to minimize waste generation and maximize the value recovery from scrap materials through effective disposal or recycling channels
- Vendor management: Conduct thorough financial and capability due diligence on existing and potential suppliers. Implement a robust vendor rating system
- Safety audits: Oversee regular safety audits of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and mitigate risks
