The Mumbai based Project Officer should be someone with a medical background who will be responsible to assisting with on-the ground coordination and oversight of projects within JDF focus areas. These responsibilities would include site visits to various JDF supported hospitals, regular phone and email communication with senior physicians as well as staff supported by JDF grant funds, as well as administrative duties. The position would focus primary with the pediatric cancer and palliative care projects.
Qualifications:
MBBS required (MD, andor Masters in Public Health preferred)
5+ years experience
Demonstrated commitment to making a difference in the lives of others
Desired BackgroundSkill Set:
Experience working in a non-profitNGO setting
Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time (including train travel)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Primary Responsibilities:
On-the ground monitoring and support for JDF supported hospital staff such as doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, and data managers.
Identifying new hospitals and performing preliminary site visits to potential grant sites
Liaise with physicians to push projects forward at prospective grant sites
Regular communication with Dallas staff to provide project updates
Prepare regular reports detailing the impact measured at grant sites
Assist in meeting and event planning for India conferences, and travel with Foundation Dallas-based staff to site visits or meetings.
