Key Responsibilities:

1. Code Assignment: Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for radiology procedures, including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine.
2. Documentation Review: Analyze radiology reports and physician documentation to ensure accurate and complete coding.
3. Compliance: Adhere to coding guidelines and regulations established by the AAPC, AHIMA, CMS, and other governing bodies.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, billing teams, and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
5. Auditing and Quality Control: Participate in internal and external audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
6. Software Proficiency: Use Electronic Health Records (EHR) and coding software to process medical records efficiently.
7. Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes to coding standards, procedures, and industry regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Certification: CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification with specialization in radiology coding.
• Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and radiology-specific procedures.
