At Tejas Networks, System Engineering team, integral to the PLM organization, plays a crucial role in crafting every successful customer experience. Comprising skilled and committed professionals from various wireline technology domains, the team ensures that customers enjoy a seamless and gratifying journey from pre-sales through to network deployment and beyond. System Engineering division is a close-knit group of network enthusiasts dedicated to designing and implementing robust, maintenance-free networks that stand the test of time.

What You Work:

As a Senior/Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Work closely with pre-sales, PLM and engineer teams to create targeted customer demos. You will have an innate understanding of how the product works, key strengths and leverage your knowledge to deliver compelling product demonstrations.
• Support OSS/BSS integration over REST, MTOSI, Netconf/Yang, Telemetry protocols
• Drive automation solutions using existing automation capabilities in the product, which include
• Ansible, Terraform Automation
• REST API based automation
• Config files based ZTP, One Touch commissioning, Change management scenarios
• Drive NMS Solution for specific customer opportunities, which includes collecting requirements and translating it into the Hardware (CPUs, Memory, Storage, Network Bandwidth) and other criteria
• Translating the sizing into BOQs consisting of server TPN, licensing, or AWS/Azure/GCP BOQs
• Market & Competitive analysis for NMS/OSS/BSS

Mandatory skills:

1. Basic understanding of atleast one of the following technologies.

• Optical: DWDM/OTN / ITU-T standards
• Packet Transport: MPLS-TP, VLAN based MEF services / IETF standards
• Access: GPON/XGPON, Ethernet, BF Standards
• Switching & Routing, Relevant IETF standards
• Wireless Management, Relevant 3GPP standards

2. Good Understanding of one or more of the following Network Management Aspects

• Inventory, Topology, Fault management, Service Assaurance, Troubleshooting Systems
• Deployment in Cloud Native & Virtualized Environments (Containers, Microservices, Autoscaling, Network Function Virtualization)
• Performance Management, Analytics
• Service Configuration/Activation (DWDM/OTN/Packet/GPON/Wireless Services)
• Network Automation, Batch jobs/Templates
• NMS North Bound and South Bound Interfaces (REST, MTOSI/XML, TMF814, SNMP, TL1, CLI, Netconf/Yang)
• High Availability, Disaster Recovery Architectures
• Scalability (Horizontal & Vertical Scaling aspects), Distributed Systems
• Software Defined Networking (Centralized Protocols, Disaggregation, Network Automation)

Desired skills:

• Certification in routing (CCNP, CCIE-SP/JNCIE-SP etc.).
• Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Good Communications Skills (Listening/Understanding customer requirements as well as ability to clearly articulate your own points)
• A highly analytical self-starter, self-learner with sound decision-making skills
• Good People skills (Ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams/stakeholders)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 5 to 10 yrs experience from Telecommunication or Networking background.
• Education: B.Tech/BE (CSE/ECE) or any other equivalent degree.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols and network architecture.
