Product Development Manager - Jewellery at Andheri West with ORRA

Brief Summary

The person will be responsible for managing the end-to-end processes of jewelry design, production, sourcing, and quality assurance. This role will act as a key liaison between the design team, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality jewelry products while maintaining inventory, compliance, and documentation standards.

Brief Job Description (just an indicative list and not limited to the following)

Design & Concept Coordination

1. Collect design concepts and briefs and communicate them to the team.

2. Coordinate with the design team and provide guidance for creating designs using Coral.

Estimation & Budgeting

3. Provide estimates for gross weight, diamond usage, and associated rates.

4. Follow up for approvals on design and cost estimates.

Vendor Management

5. Identify and onboard vendors for jewelry creation, ensuring alignment with quality standards.

6. Maintain regular follow-ups with vendors for CAD development, product creation, and delivery timelines.

7. Conduct quality checks on diamond and gold purity with vendors.

Quality Assurance & Certification

8. Coordinate with the QC team for final product quality checks.

9. Oversee IGI certification for jewelry pieces to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Inventory & Sourcing

10. Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring availability for production and sales.

11. Source diamonds as required, conduct quality checks, negotiate pricing, and handle billing.

Pricing & Documentation

12. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine the selling price of the final jewelry pieces.

13. Ensure all paperwork, documentation, and compliance processes are accurately managed.

Product Presentation

14. Organize in-house photography of jewelry, ensuring images are taken and stored in labeled boxes.

Vendor Visits & Relationship Management

15. Visit vendors as needed to monitor progress and address any issues promptly.

Skill Required

1. Bachelors degree in Jewelry Design, Business Administration, or a related field.

2. 5+ years of experience in jewelry design, sourcing, or account management.

3. Familiarity with diamond sourcing, IGI certification, and quality assurance protocols.

4. Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management tools.

5. Attention to detail with expertise in quality control processes.

6. Strong organizational and documentation skills with knowledge of compliance standards.

7. Effective communication and relationship management with internal teams and external vendors.
