Design Engineer - centrifugal compressor

Role & responsibilities

• To create and modify engineering 2D Layout, 3-D models using NX & Teamcenter to carry-out engineering design/calculations per templates in compliance to standards and practices for different products.
• Layout for Turbo components
• 3D models using NX
• Engineering Change Note generation/ Releasing Layout in PLM system
• Able to produce accurate 3D layout and solid models of centrifugal compressors in accordance with the project scope and within specified time frames.
• Able to create the solid models, and assemblies as per the specifications in NX to ensure form, fit, and function logic is met, and ensure all the mating parts in the assembly are correct.
• Co-ordinate with the Product Design Engineering, Aero Performance, Solid Mechanics, Project Management, and Packaging Design teams.
• When required, the Layout Designer will need to incorporate new designs and standards into existing compressor designs and stay within footprint limitations.
• Need to participate in and/or conduct process and design FMEA and RCA as a part of cross-functional team, as required.
• Need to the project Kickoff Meetings.
• Need to project Network review meeting.
• Need to meet the delivery commitment dates as per the schedule.
• Demonstrate problem solving skills and innovative thinking.

Preferred candidate profile

• Good hold on basic engineering
• 8 to 12 years NX (Modeling, Drafting) experience must (preferably latest version)
• Globus hands on experience must
• Turbo product exposure preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Turbo machinery must
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes like casting, forging must
• Knowledge of Parametric modeling, Expression based modeling, Part families, Wave-Link Geometry must.
• Advanced Assembly features Handle large assemblies in NX, Assembly arrangements preferred.
