Development Engineer - Seating

Role & responsibilities

• Ability to think in a wider scope, Self-motivated and pro-active approach
• Good communication skills
• Deep Technical analysis, problem solving and Seating Know-How
• Very good ability to work  with CAD systems (CATIA V5) and other IT systems generally

Purpose of position:

          To provide technical input to Internal customers, suppliers and plant to meet Project and Department targets of Seat development and Product localization. Candidate should ensure validation requirements are met

including type approval & functional intent. The candidate should be well versed of safety standards and homologation requirements.

TASK to fulfill:

1.  Should be capable to handle Seat component development like Frame and Seat trim covers. (Self-driven as well as capable to work with team members)

2.  The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of design, development, testing  (Functional, Safety, Endurance & Regulatory) & validation of Seating systems.

3. Capable to contribute towards optimization and suggest improvements in existing products

4. Localization and testing support to local suppliers

5. Candidate should have strong presentation skills, plastic tool design etc.  

6. Monitoring development timeline for localization

7. Awareness of Raw Material / Components / Parts / Assembly w.r.t. localization

8. Be a communication link between global team & various CFTs viz. Purchase, Quality, SRM, Program Management, Logistics, Production, Suppliers etc.

9. Ensue CQD for the benefit of organization

10. Homologation awareness Safety / Regulatory standards (ECE, AIS / IS)

11. Catia V5 knowledge shall be added advantage

12. Hands on experience on DFMEA, PFMEA, DFA, DFM & DFS etc.

13. Manage color and trim plaques and reference samples.
