Onix Renewable is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design and Structural specializing in ground-mounted solar projects. The candidate will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and engineering of mounting systems, ensuring they are cost-effective, durable, and compliant with industry standards. This role requires hands-on experience in solar structuring, foundation design, and mechanical integrity assessments for large-scale solar installations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Structural Design & Analysis:

Design and engineer mounting structures for ground-mounted solar PV systems.

• Perform structural calculations and simulations to ensure the stability and durability of solar racking systems.
• Develop foundation designs, considering soil conditions, wind loads, and environmental factors.

1. Site Assessment & Planning:
• Conduct geotechnical reviews and analyze topographical data for structural feasibility.
• Coordinate with geotechnical engineers and survey teams to optimize system layouts based on site conditions.
2. Engineering & CAD Development:
• Create detailed structural drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, or similar software.
• Optimize the use of steel, aluminium, and other materials to reduce costs while maintaining structural integrity.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• Ensure designs meet local and international building codes (IS, ASCE, IEC, and NEC standards).
• Develop and maintain quality control procedures for structural engineering deliverables.
• Conduct on-site inspections to validate construction alignment with design specifications.
4. Collaboration & Coordination:
• Work closely with electrical and civil teams to ensure structural and electrical designs align seamlessly.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure compatibility of mounting systems with solar panels and inverters.
• Provide technical support to construction teams during the installation phase.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
• Prepare structural design reports, risk assessments, and bill of materials (BOM).
• Document lessons learned from each project to improve future designs and installations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in structural design for ground-mounted solar PV projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD. Pro, SAP2000, and PV case.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, wind load analysis, and foundation design.
• Experience with pile-driven, ballasted, and fixed-tilt mounting systems.
• Knowledge of IS 875, ASCE 7-16, Eurocodes, and other structural standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Masters degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Experience with single-axis trackers and floating solar structures.
• Familiarity with structural dynamics and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Certifications in structural engineering or solar design (e.g., SE certification, NABCEP, or equivalent).
