Director of AI Acceleration

Role Summary
The Director of AI Acceleration will be responsible for leading a team of AI engineers focused on enhancing Onits internal operational efficiency using AI and supporting the development of AI products and capabilities for our clients. This role bridges internal AI adoption initiatives with platform capability development, ensuring alignment across strategic objectives and technical execution. Reporting directly to the Chief AI Officer, the Director will drive AI integration into Onits business processes while also building scalable AI products that meet the needs of our customers.

Role Summary
The Director of AI Acceleration will be responsible for leading a team of AI engineers focused on enhancing Onits internal operational efficiency using AI and supporting the development of AI products and capabilities for our clients. This role bridges internal AI adoption initiatives with platform capability development, ensuring alignment across strategic objectives and technical execution. Reporting directly to the Chief AI Officer, the Director will drive AI integration into Onits business processes while also building scalable AI products that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the local AI team, nurturing a culture of problem-solving, collaboration and delivery.
- Work with the VP of AI and Data Science to build and extend AI capabilities within Onits product suite.
- Translate high-level AI strategies into well-defined actionable programs and projects with significant, measurable benefits.
- Lead the development and delivery of these AI initiatives, meeting the demand for AI to improve productivity, and matching the AI priorities set by the AI Acceleration Committee. Oversee timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects meet business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. Engage cross-functional teams, including Operations, IT, Product, and Marketing, to educate, drive AI adoption, remove barriers, and embed AI into daily workflows. Act as a primary liaison with designated AI Ambassadors and functional leaders to support and enable AI transformation.
- Work with the Director of AI Trust & Integrity to ensure adherence to AI governance and compliance frameworks, and that all AI initiatives align with ethical standards, data privacy, and security regulations.
- Track, analyze, and report on AI project performance and impact, presenting metrics to the AI Acceleration Committee and Executive Leadership Team. Use data to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Foster a culture of AI literacy, including workshops, documentation, and regular updates on AI tools and initiatives. This includes working closely with AI Ambassadors and to the advice of the Director of Enterprise Learning & Employee Experience.
- Support and oversee innovation programs such as AI hackathons.
- Encourage and enable access to a centralized, secure data access platform a centralized, secure, and standardized environment for broad access to AI, AI experimentation, and data sources.
- Track efforts across the organization against solution bounties, and other incentive programs approved by the AI Acceleration Committee to encourage creative AI application across the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 8+ years leading large-scale development efforts, with oversight of multi-disciplined teams, demonstrating adherence to strict timelines and budget constraints.
- Experience leading digital or technology-driven transformation initiatives within a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of AI and data management.
- Proven ability to translate high-level strategies into actionable project plans and drive outcomes that align with organizational goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships across functional teams, enact change, and influence decision-making.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in creating reports, presentations, and training for executive and general audiences.
- Familiarity with ethical, legal, and compliance considerations in AI, including data privacy and security standards.
- Analyze financial data to support AI proposals and ensure alignment with goals.
- Experience leading digital or technology-driven transformation initiatives within a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of AI and data management.
