L2 Linux Administrator - SUSE/Red Hat (4-6 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- In-depth knowledge of Linux distributions, particularly SUSE and RedHat.

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux server hardware and software systems.

- Manage server performance, availability, and resource utilization.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues, including performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and application errors.

- Perform system upgrades, patches, and security hardening.

- Monitor system logs and proactively address potential issues.

- Solid understanding of network protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP, and TCP/IP.

- Experience with Linux-based VPN clients, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and network security best practices.

- Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools such as traceroute, tcpdump, tracepath, nc, ifconfig, nmap, netstat, ethool.

- In-depth knowledge of storage technologies, including RAID configurations (different types/classes) and file systems (ext4, XFS, etc.

- Experience with storage management, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and data backup/recovery.

- Hands-on experience with core system services such as DNS, FTP, Samba, LDAP, Email, NTP, NFS, DHCP, and their configuration.

- Proficient in system monitoring tools such as vmstat, iostat, and nfstat.

- Knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.

- Work with users to resolve account and system-related issues.

- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum 4-6 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.

- Proven experience with SUSE and RedHat Linux distributions.

- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g, Bash, Python) is a plus
