Job Title: Assistant Manager - Purchase (Imports)

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager - Purchase (Imports) will oversee and optimize procurement

activities related to imports, including sourcing from international suppliers, negotiating

contracts, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining compliance with customs regulations.

The role requires expertise in import laws, supply chain management and vendor

relations.

Key Responsibilities:

• New Vendor Development: Identifying, evaluating and onboarding international suppliers to enhance the supply chain.
• Procurement & Vendor Management: Source international suppliers, negotiate contracts, build vendor relationships and ensure quality and timely deliveries.
• Import Operations: Manage documentation, customs clearance and coordinate with freight forwarders to streamline import processes.
• Cost Optimization: Develop cost-effective procurement strategies and monitor currency fluctuations.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to trade regulations and maintain accurate records of import activities.
• Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and resolve procurement-related issues.

Core Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on imported materials.
• Proven ability to manage international suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely procurement of materials.
• Proficiency in SAP and other procurement tools for efficient tracking and reporting.
• Thorough understanding of purchase order management, import documentation, and procurement workflows.
• Familiarity with import regulations, customs procedures, and trade policies affecting procurement.
• Ability to coordinate across teams and manage multiple tasks effectively.
