Technical PM Data

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of Data projects. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. You will ensure the smooth execution of complex data initiatives, from inception to completion, while aligning with business goals and technical requirements.

As the bridge between business needs and technical teams, your role will be crucial in ensuring that Data and AI projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams.

- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle of Data and AI initiatives, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Team Coordination and Communication:

- Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams (data scientists, AI engineers, and data engineers).

- Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities, and timelines.

- Conduct regular project meetings, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and roadblocks.

Risk Management and Problem Solving:

- Proactively identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues that may affect project delivery.

- Develop contingency plans and take corrective action as needed to keep projects on track.

- Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Understanding and Oversight:

- Maintain a strong understanding of data pipelines, data architecture, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Work with the technical teams to ensure technical solutions align with business requirements and industry best practices.

- Provide technical guidance and support to ensure smooth project execution.

Agile Project Management:

- Lead projects using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), ensuring iterative development and continuous feedback.

- Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.

- Ensure that the agile process is followed, and teams are continually improving through retrospectives.

Budget and Resource Management:

- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring efficient use of resources.

- Forecast resource needs and work with department heads to ensure the appropriate technical resources are allocated to projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Master s degree or PMP certification is a plus.

- Experience: Overall 12+ years of experience with 5+ years of experience in technical project management, with a focus on Data, AI, or machine learning projects.

Technical Expertise:

- Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

- Experience working with data scientists, data engineers, and software development teams to deliver technical solutions.

- Familiarity with data-related tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark) frameworks.

Project Management Skills:

- Proven ability to manage large-scale technical projects, including complex data and AI initiatives, from inception to completion.

- Expertise in agile project management (Scrum, Kanban) and proficiency with project management tools like Jira.

Leadership and Communication:

- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
