Civil Engineer - Substation

We are looking of bright, dynamic civil site engineers for the construction of Substation 33/11 KV with 2 to 7 years of relevant work experience. Job responsibilities have been listed below:

Job Location: For our Project Site(s) in Maharashtra.

Role & responsibilities

Surveying:

• Analyze and interpret engineering plans, aerial photography, blueprints, topographical & geological data, and technical drawings to plan and execute construction activities.
• Conduct thorough site surveys and topographic surveys to establish accurate project layout.

Foundation & Earthwork:

• Plan and oversee the construction of temporary access roads and internal pathways within the substation site.
• Mark out foundation locations, drainage lines, and access roads on the site.
• To oversee and do earthworks including excavation, grading, and backfilling activities.
• To manage construction activities at the site, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
• Review and interpret structural drawings for foundation design.
• Manage concrete pouring for foundations, including quality control and reinforcement placement.
• Monitor and ensure proper curing of concrete foundations.
• Manage gravel or concrete surfacing for safe vehicle and personnel movement.

Project Monitoring:

• Monitor the installation of prefabricated structural components like steel columns and beams.
• Ensure proper alignment and structural integrity of all erected components.
• Identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures to minimize project delays, cost overruns and safety hazards.
• Monitor civil engineering costs against the project budget and identify areas for cost optimization.
• Track construction progress and ensure adherence to project timelines.

Collaboration & Team-Work:

• Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of civil works with other disciplines.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
• Communicate effectively with site crew, contractors, and project stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and changes.
• Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials, ensuring their compliance with industry standards.

Site Inspection:

• Conduct regular quality checks on construction materials and workmanship.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues and ensure compliance with engineering and design requirements.
• Perform site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards and non-compliance issues.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, change orders and quality control measures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of construction activities and inspection reports.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience in site engineering for infrastructure projects, preferably including substation construction
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
