Head - Legal & Compliance

Job Summary:

The Head of Legal and Compliance is responsible for overseeing the organizations legal affairs and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role will involve advising senior management on legal issues, managing compliance programs, and mitigating risks associated with business operations.

• Legal Oversight:
• Provide legal guidance on a variety of issues including contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, and employment law.
• Review and draft legal documents, agreements, and policies to safeguard the organization's interests.
• Compliance Management:
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct regular compliance assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Risk Management:
• Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with business decisions and operations.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization and advise management accordingly.
• Training and Development:
• Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal and compliance issues.
• Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with various departments, including HR, Finance, and Operations, to ensure cohesive compliance efforts.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Reporting:
• Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and investigations.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Experience:
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in legal and compliance roles, with a focus on [specific industry if applicable].
• Proven track record in managing compliance programs and legal risk assessments.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of corporate law, compliance regulations, and risk management practices.
