About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced DB Developer / MySQL Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design and development, with specific expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL (PGSQL). In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing databases, writing complex queries, and ensuring high performance while preventing issues such as blocking and deadlocks.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain database structures, including schema, tables, and relationships, using MySQL.

- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to meet business requirements.

- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot complex SQL issues related to queries, deadlocks, and blocking.

- Develop and implement strategies to prevent blocking and deadlocks in the database.

- Perform database tuning, indexing, and query optimization to ensure high-performance and scalability.

- Work closely with the application development teams to design and implement data models that meet business needs.

- Ensure database integrity and security by enforcing best practices and maintaining a high level of data consistency.

- Provide guidance on database architecture, design, and best practices to junior team members.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.

Skills and Qualifications :

- 6+ years of experience in database development, with a strong focus on MySQL and PostgreSQL (PGSQL).

- Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions in MySQL and PGSQL.

- Database design and data modeling expertise, including normalization, denormalization, and relationships

between tables.

- Hands-on experience in resolving blocking and deadlock issues in a multi-user database environment.

- Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and managing large data sets.

- Knowledge of database security and data integrity best practices.

- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing database scripts and code.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery planning for databases.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.

- Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure SQL Database.

- Experience with data migration and database replication.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices for database deployments and automation.
