Job Description

About the role:

Business Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex data to provide valuable insights that drive business decisions within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of insurance business functions and processes, combined with a strong background in data analysis. Exposure to insurance domain platforms or agency management platforms will be a plus. This role requires at least 6 years of experience in data analytics, with a focus on the general insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis Interpretation: Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business strategies in the insurance domain.
Business Process Understanding: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand insurance business functions and processes, translating business requirements into data-driven solutions.
Data Management: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across various data sources. Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to support business objectives.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including underwriters, actuaries, project managers and business analysts to ensure data-driven decision-making.
Reporting Visualization: Create and deliver reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and the insurance industry. Continuously seek opportunities to improve data analysis processes and methodologies.
Compliance Data Security: Ensure all data analysis activities are compliant with industry regulations and company policies, maintaining the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.

Requirements:

Minimum of 6 years of experience in business analysis, with a significant portion of that experience in the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of general insurance business functions, processes, and regulations.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business insights.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with machine learning and predictive modelling is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
