Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Gallery Manager to manage our gallery sales and operations, with a focus on efforts in an exclusive art gallery catering to a rich clientele. As the Gallery Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to handle operations, drive sales, expand our customer base, and enhance brand visibility. This role requires a strong understanding of the art market, exceptional sales and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in marketing artworks to affluent individuals.

Key Responsibility Areas:
Gallery Manager Operations, Engagement & Facility Lead
1. Streamlined Gallery Operations & Maintenance: Lead day-to-day gallery operations, ensuring immaculate presentation, timely repairs, and adherence to safety standards. Regularly monitor the gallerys condition, promptly addressing maintenance needs to maintain a high-quality visitor experience and safeguard artworks.
2. Visitor Engagement & Financial Oversight: Manage detailed visitor records and feedback while overseeing budgets, financial summaries, and utility bill tracking to ensure seamless operations and transparency.

3. Security, Safety & Protocols: Train and supervise security staff on visitor interaction, safety protocols, and emergency preparedness. Ensure the gallery is equipped for emergencies with fire extinguishers, exit plans, and regular safety drills, enhancing the protection of artworks and the gallery experience.

Exhibition & Event Operations Lead
1. Exhibition Planning & Coordination: Work with curators to manage exhibition budgets, programming, logistics, and material sourcing, ensuring smooth execution of all exhibition elements.
2. Event & Production Management: Oversee opening night arrangements, including food, beverages, and permits, while coordinating schedules and logistics during production and installation phases.

Visitor Engagement, Client Services & Administrative Lead
1. Visitor & Client Interaction: Serve as the primary contact for visitors, providing professional and welcoming service, sharing gallery information, and assisting clients with private viewings, artwork deliveries, and specific needs. Manage visitor data, ensuring accurate entry into Artlogic and Mailchimp for effective communication and outreach.
2. Community Engagement & Operational Support: Foster relationships within local and international art communities through walkthroughs, tours, and events. Oversee inventory management, keeping detailed records of gallery assets and ensuring timely updates to reflect changes.

Gallery Manager Operations, Engagement & Partnerships Lead
1. Gallery Operations & Visitor Engagement: Oversee daily gallery operations, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for visitors. Manage visitor data through Artlogic and Mailchimp, handle client services including private viewings and artwork deliveries, and coordinate community engagement through tours and events to foster strong local and international art relationships.
2. Collaboration & Social Media Strategy: Drive new collaboration opportunities with artists, organizations, and communities to enhance gallery visibility. Coordinate events, including Art Night Thursdays and monthly gallery activities, ensuring seamless execution. Collaborate with the social media manager to create and share engaging content on platforms like Instagram, highlighting exhibitions, events, and partnerships.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Art History, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Gallery Manager in art industry.
• Strong knowledge and passion for art, with an understanding of different art forms, styles, and artists.
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage with high-profile clients and art collectors.
• Creative mind-set and the ability to curate exhibitions and showcase artworks that resonate with the target audience.
• Proficiency in digital marketing strategies, including social media, content creation, and online advertising.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed marketing decisions.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and inspiring a sales team.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas and influence effectively.
