Private Equity Associate - Healthcare/LifeSciences & Pharma PE Fund (1-4 yrs)

Job brief

We are a thematic Healthcare, LifeSciences and Pharma PE Fund, looking for a resource with experience in the Private Equity/Investment Banking Industry to join our team. The core responsibilities we are looking for include the ability to evaluate the business and investment potential in any proposal we undertake, identify pathways of value creation (pre and post investment), appraise all the risks accompanying the business on a 360 degree basis, suggest means to mitigate risks, creating appropriate enforceable investing structures that enable the Fund to generate target ROIs, monitoring the investment post transaction, taking remedial action as necessary, identifying and helping convert exit opportunities

Ultimately, you will work directly with clients to understand the risks and complexities specific to their situation and prescribe to your team the most appropriate way forward to enhance/protect the Fund's interests and thereafter execute.

You will work within a flat organizational structure with direct oversight of the Fund Manager and further with exposure to the Promoter/Sponsors. The environment will involve a lot of exposure to a wide variety of opportunities, segments (within Healthcare Life Sciences and Pharma) and people. There will be several opportunities to learn, work outside comfort zones, develop new skills (functional and interpersonal) in a job that will be both demanding and fulfilling.

Responsibilities

- Draft and present internal proposals for approval by our organization's Investment Committee

- Appraise all the risks accompanying the business on a 360 degree basis, suggest means to mitigate risks

- Monitor the investments of the Funds and help take remedial action where needed

- Identify suitable exit opportunities

- Negotiate, structure, and complete fund documentation for clients

- Support fundraising activities for the fund as needed

- Serve as Observers to Advisory Boards of portfolio entities, as required

- Attend annual investor meetings for underlying funds

Key Skills required for Private Equity

- Proven work experience as a Private Equity Associate or similar role

- Organizational skills to manage several accounts at once

- Ability to analyze lots of data to provide insights and directions to clients

- Relevant training and/or certifications as a Private Equity Associate

- Knowledge of specific industries.

- Operating experience.

- Financial modeling/analysis skills.

- Insight into how businesses are doing.

- How management interventions could help businesses.
