Job Description and Duties
InCharge Business Operations, NIPL
Role Contour: Lead and drive technical and business operations of international alliances activities on a day-to-day basis to secure revenue for NIPL from such alliances.
Job Responsibilities:
Build robust operational processes and drive continuous improvements through customer anecdotes. Manage incidents related to Payments, trouble shoot, engage internal and external teams to mitigate customer impact and fix problems. Supports
a wide range of solutions (acceptance, remittance, and licenses) across different countries.
• Proven track record in payments operations and building and scaling an operations function. Manage the entire operations function for NIPL Business in area of Acceptance RuPay & UPI, Remittance on UPI and UPI Licensing.
• Serve as the Operations Subject Matter Expert, offering guidance on Operational Systems & policies for all new projects, to ensure operational change impacting Payment Ops including Foreign Exchange and Treasury Ops is delivered efficiently.
• Understand and own stakeholder communication per project, articulate operational principles / standards to be met.
• Drive completion of operational artefacts, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Treasury, Settlement & Recon, Operational flows and templates for projects which can be repurposed.
• Develop and implement new operational procedures and practices in line with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure the requirements for all new projects are met including timely reporting to regulatory and other stakeholders.
• Accountable for day-to-day payment operations processing including reports, timely reconciliation, and settlement between partners. Support Business Partnership team and manage inquiries related to reconciliation, settlement, and transactions; and escalate should no response from relevant partners within internal agreed timeline.
• Involve in project related initiatives pertaining to Payment Operations and partner onboarding related initiatives to drive innovation and constantly improve the user experience.
• Work with relevant internal stakeholders and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a systematic and timely manner pertaining to payment related issues.
• Act as SME for payments products including understanding of payment rails (UPI, Cards, NACH etc.).
• Manage the entire operations function for NIPL Business in area of Acceptance RuPay & UPI, Remittance on UPI
and UPI Licensing. Ensure required monitor of transactions, meaningful analysis of Technical/Business Declines
(TD/BD) and improve on authorization rate.
• Identifying, communicating, and logging risks, accordingly, developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with internal teams to overcome project challenges.
• Continuously develop/enhance understanding of payment, settlement processes and system workflows, making sure adequate documentation is in place and maintained.
• Own and drive collaboration between NIPL functions and NPCI IT for new customer onboarding as well as managing business for existing customers.
• Ensure uptime of technical services and schemes in all operating geographies in collaboration with network partners.
• Lead business analytics to generate accurate consumer and product insights; identify gaps in operations; develop and
implement corrective action plan.
• Enable new product ideation, growth opportunities and existing product enhancement for existing tie ups.
• Drive product integration and implementation in close coordination with product and business team.
Actively coordinate with Internal and External Auditors to provide visibility and achieve due diligence in required areas.
• Driving process improvements, automation of processes and automated generation of various MIS & reports.
Skills & Qualifications:
• 14+yrs of relevant experience in any of the following domains Retail / Cards / Bill Payments / Payment Gateway /Aggregator Operations.
• Engineering or equivalent graduate with MBA from a reputed college.
• Good knowledge of Payments domain, Payments Technology, Products, Operations, Risk & Other related functions.
• Specialized in Payments Operations including Foreign Remittance, Treasury, Forex Rate, Limits, NOSTRO/VOSTRO, Settlement & Reconciliation systems.
• Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate date into actionable.
• Can quickly grasp complex issues. Detail oriented - analytical/investigative mind-set.
• Be able to thrive in a fast paced/highly complex environment. Bias to action gets things done.
• Control mind-set can identify processes and measures required to identify operational issues.
• Highly self-motivated with a “can do” attitude. Not afraid to question the status quo.
• Knowledge in building presentation decks, word proposals and excel.
• Top notch verbal & written communication skills to build strong relations and collaboration with influencing skills.
