Position Summary:

The Manager - Technical Services will spearhead process studies, pilot trials, and the commercialization of agrochemical and fluorine-based intermediate products. The role requires delivering technical support to manufacturing units, contributing to greenfield and brownfield projects, and ensuring compliance with statutory and industry standards. This position demands a strong technical acumen, leadership, and the ability to collaborate across functions to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Study & Pilot Trials:

• Plan, execute, and document process studies for new product development, with a specific focus on fluorine-based intermediates and agrochemical intermediates.
• Conduct and analyze pilot trials for products, including but not limited to PMT, Haloxyfop Methyl, Propaquizafop, Acetamiprid, and Fenbuconazole, ensuring readiness for commercialization.
• Lead at least two pilot trials annually for fluorine and other intermediate products.

2. New Product Commercialization:

• Drive the successful commercialization of at least five agrochemical or intermediate products annually.
• Lead the commercialization of at least one fluorine-based intermediate product annually.
• Coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure smooth scaling of processes from pilot to commercial scale.

3. Technical Support to Plants:

• Resolve key technical challenges in the manufacturing units, such as:
• Fipronil-related issues at the Dahej Plant.
• Thiamethoxam particle size challenges to eliminate milling.
• Provide ongoing technical support to R&D, SKLM, ETK, and Dahej plants for product and process optimization.
• Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

4. Greenfield and Brownfield Project Support:

• Provide process engineering support (basic and detailed) for new greenfield and brownfield projects, particularly for fluorine-based products.
• Ensure timely delivery of project milestones while adhering to budget and quality standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop and optimize workflows for new product manufacturing.

5. Compliance and Regulatory Support:

• Support data generation and scheme finalization required for statutory compliance.
• Ensure that all technical activities meet regulatory and environmental standards, including adherence to Responsible Care Management Systems (RCMS).
• Foster a culture of safety and compliance in all technical initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Conduct at least two pilot trials for fluorine-based and agrochemical intermediate products annually.
• Successfully commercialize five new agrochemical or intermediate products, including at least one fluorine-based intermediate, each year.
• Resolve Fipronil technical issues and Thiamethoxam particle size challenges within defined timelines.
• Provide accurate and timely process engineering support for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Achieve 100% compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelors/Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in process development, pilot trials, and commercialization within the chemical or agrochemical industry.
• Strong expertise in fluorine-based intermediates and agrochemical product development.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges in a manufacturing setup.
• Proficiency in process engineering principles, project management, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
