Job Description

The primary role of a Financial Accountant is to maintain accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with international financial management standards, including IFRS and Ind AS. The position involves financial reporting, general ledger management, consolidation, reconciliation and analysis, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, compliance and audit Support, financial systems and processes, intercompany transactions, financial analysis, and tax and statutory compliance. Key responsibilities include:

Prepare and analyse financial statements, including consolidated financial statements, in compliance with IFRS and Ind AS.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, including intercompany eliminations, provisions, contingencies, and reserves.

Coordinate and prepare consolidated financial statements for multiple subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and elimination of intercompany transactions.

Perform periodic reconciliations of accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and analyse variances to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries for consolidated financial reporting.

Support internal and external audits by providing financial data and documentation, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in line with IFRS and Ind AS.

Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring proper elimination of intercompany balances and adherence to transfer pricing guidelines.

Conduct financial analysis, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and trend analysis, to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.

Collaborate with the tax and legal teams to ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and reporting requirements.

Knowledge Requirements Mandatory

Strong knowledge and understanding of IFRS and Ind AS accounting standards and their application in financial reporting.

Familiarity with international financial management concepts, including intercompany eliminations, transfer pricing, foreign exchange, and accounting practices for provisions, contingencies, and reserves.

Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements for a public company, including the elimination of intercompany transactions.

Proficiency in financial accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Preferred

Experience with multinational corporations and exposure to international finance operations.

Knowledge of tax and regulatory compliance in India and its impact on financial reporting.

Experience in implementing process improvements and automation initiatives.

Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

Experience and Qualification Requirements

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A relevant masters degree or professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CA (Chartered Accountant) are desirable but not mandatory.
