Role & responsibilities

1. Lining and patching of Furnace Crucible

2. Maintaining the sintering cycle of the Furnace with proper power feeding

3. Charging of input-raw materials as per the norms fixed by the management

4. Coordination with PPD Shift In-charge for optimum utilization of Power and to keep Power export zero

5. Preparation of Heat with compositional adjustment during melting as per the BIS Norms

6. Coordination with Melters and CCM Shift In-charge for tapping of heat with a sequential order

7. Controlling and monitoring of the consumption pattern of furnace consumables, Ferro & Alloys & Refractories to keep within specified norms

8. House Keeping of the Furnace platform, EOT Crane Walk-Way, Slag pit area and raw material yard

9. Responsible for making ready the stand by crucible before the down of running crucible

10. Ensuring safety for all the persons engaged in furnace operation

11. Monitoring and controlling of EOT Crane Movement carrying hot metal and other items to be accomplished in a safe way

12. Checking of furnace lining (side and bottom) in each and every heat before charging and logging-in the lining refractory states in Log-Book/ Register

13. Adopt and ensure the best operational practice during the furnace operation to avoid boiling of liquid metal and super-heating of liquid metal
