Job Description
Role Overview
The SAM Technical Manager will be part of a center-led Software Asset Management Service to ensure compliant, cost effective and efficient utilization of software in partnerships with Software Owners across our company. The position will support SAM Tool administration including maintenance and reporting to include inventory, ad hoc audits, and periodic audits to ensure compliance.
Our company is driving a multi-year IT transformation that requires an operationally and technically focused SAM Service to support the effective utilization of third-party software as underpinning technologies in support of our broader overall IT initiatives of moving to the cloud, data and analytics and an agile product team centric operating mode as key elements of the IT change.
In addition, this role is expected to work as an advocate and expand the utilization of SAM services and data as a foundational element within IT to deliver breakthrough results, driving overall innovation and automation.
This position operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities through the efficient management of software products. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines, and Animal Health products.
What will you do in this role
- Performing ITAM tool technical configurations, conducting regular environment checks, supporting data proficiency in software configuration and management, building and managing connectors for ITAM tool (per the alignment with stakeholders)
- System Health Monitoring and Troubleshooting, develop and implement a comprehensive plan for server migration, ensure that the migration is executed smoothly, avoiding any business disruptions.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the ITAM tool (e.g., tool architecture, user guides)
- Prepare and share detailed reports on all current/future integrations and tasks, including the type of data each integration brings into ITAM tool which will help maintain transparency and provide valuable insights to stakeholders
- Coordinate across various applications team to roll out ITAM tool update agent, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and functioning correctly
- Conduct user analysis within ITAM tool and propose updated roles to the team, address questions related to ITAM tool reporting and capabilities, ensuring that users have the necessary information and support
- Create a scripting/coding and automation to streamline processes. Resolve technical blockers to support ITAM tool functionality, migration process and closely monitor the deployment process. Coordinate with various functions (SAM operation team, product owners) to understand software requirement.
- Be responsible for generating reports, queries, dashboards from ITAM Tool to track IT asset and software usage and compliance.
- Perform regular audits to identify and remediate IT asset and software license compliance issues
- Implement stakeholder engagement/communications plan. Collect and use feedback from SAM Operation team, software product owners and other stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
- Act as a support to the ITAM Tool lead and extended SAM operation tam while providing other IT stakeholders data and insights Clear and effective communication with stakeholders to confirm details and address any change
- Support the establishment and implementation of function-level project plans to reach the ITAM state defined.
- Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the project manager.
What should you have
- Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business or any Technology stream.
- 3+ years of experience in ITAM tools or IT System Management Experience
- Familiarity with data visualization or AI tools ( eg Tableau, Power BI, Excel, R, and MATLAB or others)
- Proficiency in programming language such as Java, Python, SQL, and C# or others for data management and analysis is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify patterns.
- Ability to work individually, as well as in a team and collaborate with others.
- Effective communication skills to present findings and insights clearly
- Ability to learn complex technologies quickly.
