Senior QA Lead / Manager

Reports To: Director

Timings: 9 AM to 6 PM

Job Summary:

As a QA Lead with 7+ years of experience, you will be responsible for leading a team of QA engineers to ensure high-quality software delivery. You will define and execute the testing strategy, drive test automation, and work closely with development, product teams, and external stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable software solutions. You will also be responsible for client handling and presentations, ensuring clear communication of QA progress and challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in stakeholder management, and hands-on experience with manual and automated testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the QA Team: Oversee a team of QA engineers and ensure that testing efforts align with the development and product roadmap.
• Test Strategy and Planning: Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases to ensure software quality. Plan for regression, functional, performance, and scalability testing.
• Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams, product managers, and clients, to align on deliverables, timelines, and quality standards.
• Client Handling: Act as the point of contact for QA-related discussions with clients. Address client concerns, provide timely updates on QA progress, and ensure transparency in the testing process.
• Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations on testing progress, defect status, and overall quality metrics to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Communicate effectively to ensure clarity and alignment on goals.
• Automation: Implement and maintain automation frameworks for testing, ensuring continuous integration an continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are optimized for testing.
• Test Execution: Oversee the execution of manual and automated tests across different stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Defect Tracking and Resolution: Monitor, track, and manage software defects to ensure timely resolution, and work closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Process Improvement: Continuously improve the QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the QA team.
• Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to QA team members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Reporting and Metrics: Prepare and present regular reports on the quality of releases, testing progress, and defect resolution status to stakeholders, senior management, and clients.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in the software delivery process and provide actionable mitigation strategies.
  

Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Strong experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience in manual and automated testing, both functional and non-functional.
• Strong experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to manage relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Proven track record in delivering presentations to senior management, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Solid understanding of software development processes, Agile methodologies, and SDLC.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SOAP UI).
• Certification in QA or Agile methodologies (e.g., ISTQB, CSM) is a plus.
