Job Description: Sales Manager Automation Industry

Location: Gurgaon
Experience: 4+ years in automation sales (SPMs, robotics, vision inspection, laser machines, conveyors, etc.)
Salary: Negotiable

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager with a strong background in automation solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing customer relationships, and driving business growth. This role requires technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership to expand market reach and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Business Development:
    • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve company targets.
    • Identify new business opportunities in the automation sector (SPMs, robotics, laser marking, Industrial Automation assembly lines, etc.).
    • Conduct market research to understand trends, competitors, and customer needs.
    • Generate and manage leads through networking, cold calling, and client meetings.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
    • Provide technical consultations and product demonstrations.
    • Address client inquiries and offer solutions tailored to their automation needs.
  3. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Recruit, train, and mentor the sales team.
    • Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure technical feasibility.
    • Coordinate with marketing teams to create effective sales campaigns.
  4. Target Achievement & Performance Tracking:
    • Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.
    • Track sales performance using CRM tools and provide regular reports to management.
    • Implement strategies for continuous growth and target achievement.
  5. Negotiation & Closing Deals:
    • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and contracts.
    • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with clients.
    • Ensure timely follow-ups to convert leads into sales.
  6. Market Expansion & Brand Positioning:
    • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
    • Identify potential partnerships to expand the company’s market share.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation) or Business Management.
  • Proven 4+ years of experience in selling automation solutions, SPMs, robotics, vision inspection, or laser machines.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, manufacturing processes, and assembly lines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently for client meetings and industry events.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and sales forecasting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling capital equipment sales or industrial automation solutions.
  • Strong network in automotive, electronics, and manufacturing industries.
  • Understanding of PLC, SCADA, robotics, and vision-based automation systems.
