Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Head to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sourcing raw materials from India and China, with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical API market. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:

• Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for sourcing raw materials from India and China.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and establish long-term supplier agreements to secure stable and reliable supply chains.

Supplier Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of raw materials.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Address and resolve any supplier-related issues or disputes promptly and effectively.

Cost Management:

• Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to optimize procurement costs.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for value engineering.
• Ensure procurement activities align with the companys budget and financial objectives.

Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Regulatory teams to ensure all sourced materials comply with regulatory standards and quality specifications.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to maintain high-quality standards.

Inventory Management:

• Work closely with the supply chain and production teams to ensure optimal inventory levels.
• Develop and maintain accurate procurement forecasts to support production planning.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Provide guidance and support to team members in achieving their goals and objectives.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of procurement experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in sourcing raw materials from India and China.
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical API market and regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
