Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Procurement Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with university goals, optimizing cost efficiency and resource utilization.
• Policy Development & Compliance: Establish and enforce procurement policies to enhance transparency, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, ensuring seamless procurement operations.
• End-to-End Procurement Management: Oversee procurement for goods, services, and capital expenditure (CAPEX & OPEX), including infrastructure projects, electrical equipment, Hostel furniture, IT systems, scientific and lab equipment, and other essential resources.
• Vendor Management & Negotiation: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, enhancing collaboration, ensuring timely deliveries, and driving cost savings through strategic negotiations. Reconciliation letter of credit, vendor Statement & Manual. Stock Verification, Analysis of Vendor Performance & Price Variance. Through SAP platform.
• Process Optimization: Streamline procurement operations by implementing best practices in supply chain management, improving vendor compliance, and leveraging data-driven decision-making.
• Contract & Risk Management: Evaluate and negotiate contracts with a focus on cost-effectiveness, technical specifications, and long-term value for the university.
• Import & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure smooth import processes for specialized research materials and technical equipment while adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Budget Optimization & Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives, track expenditures, and optimize procurement strategies to enhance financial sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• MBA (preferred specialization in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or related fields).
• Proven experience in procurement within a large University setup.
• Strong expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement of infrastructure, IT, and research equipment.
• Ability to analyze financial data and drive cost-effective purchasing strategies.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and process improvement.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices in the industry.
