Senior Manager (Logistics & Transport)

Role & responsibilities

The Senior Manager - Logistics is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire logistics operation for Moreish Foods Limited across the eastern region of India. This role involves managing vehicle availability for seamless distribution, ensuring efficient cost and budget management, supervising fleet maintenance, and overseeing driver coordination. The Logistics Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational efficiency and ensure timely deliveries across the region.

Preferred candidate profile

• Logistics Operations Management:
• Oversee end-to-end logistics operations across 5 manufacturing units in the East region.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods from manufacturing units to depots, distributors, and retailers.
• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing distribution networks to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

• Vehicle and Fleet Management:
• Ensure the availability of an adequate fleet for daily dispatch and distribution requirements.
• Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and route optimization to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with transporters and third-party logistics providers to maintain service reliability and cost control.

• Budget and Cost Management:
• Prepare and manage the logistics budget while ensuring cost-effective distribution.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through route planning, freight negotiations, and vendor management.
• Analyze transportation costs and recommend strategies to optimize expenditure.

• Maintenance and Compliance:
• Oversee regular vehicle maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Implement compliance measures for fleet operations, ensuring legal and environmental requirements are met.
• Maintain records of vehicle documentation, insurance, and permits to ensure smooth operations.

• Driver and Manpower Management:
• Supervise and manage a team of drivers, ensuring efficiency, discipline, and safety compliance.
• Conduct regular training and motivation sessions to enhance driver performance.
• Monitor driver schedules, workload, and incentives to maintain high productivity and reduce attrition.

• Stakeholder Coordination:
• Collaborate with depot managers, production teams, and sales teams to ensure smooth product dispatch.
• Work closely with procurement and warehouse teams for stock movement planning.
• Address and resolve any transportation issues, delays, or disruptions efficiently.
