L2/L3 Protocol Developer - Datacom (6-12 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Datacom L2/L3 Protocol Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for networking products and services.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement software solutions for Datacom systems, focusing on Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) protocols.

- Work on protocols like OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching).

- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in C/C++.

- Perform debugging and troubleshooting of complex network protocol issues.

- Automate processes using Python/Shell scripting to improve productivity.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.

- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of networking solutions.

- Stay up to date with advancements in Datacom technologies and apply them to enhance existing systems.

Skills and Qualifications :

- Strong programming skills in C/C++.

- In-depth knowledge of Datacom concepts and Layer 2/Layer 3 (L2/L3) protocols.

- Hands-on experience with OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and related networking technologies.

- Proficiency in Python and/or Shell scripting for automation.

- Excellent debugging, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Routing protocols.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working with large-scale Datacom products or systems.

- Knowledge of SDN (Software Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) is a plus.
