Looking for an SAP Basis Administrator who is responsible for the daily administration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP systems to ensure their smooth operation. This role focuses on maintaining the stability, security, and performance of the SAP environment, supporting ongoing business processes, and troubleshooting technical issues. The SAP Basis Administrator collaborates with other technical teams, functional consultants, and business users to deliver reliable SAP operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
SAP System Monitoring and Maintenance:
* Perform daily health checks for SAP systems, including system logs, work processes, and application servers.
* Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks or errors using tools like SAP Solution Manager and transaction codes (e.g., SM50, SM66, ST22).
* Ensure high system availability and uptime.
* Manage user accounts, roles, and authorizations to ensure secure access to SAP systems.
* Administer transport requests across Development, QA, and Production environments using Transport Management System (TMS).
Background Job Scheduling and Management:
Create, schedule, and monitor background jobs using transaction codes SM36 and SM37.
Troubleshoot failed jobs and optimize schedules for system efficiency.
System Patching and Troubleshooting:
* Apply SAP Notes, kernel updates, and support packages to maintain system reliability.
* Support SAP upgrades, including Enhancement Pack installations and technical migrations.
* Perform database monitoring, maintenance, and tuning (e.g., Oracle, HANA, SQL Server, DB2).
* Manage database backups, restores, and optimization tasks.
* Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to SAP systems, including connectivity and performance problems.
* Support and monitor integrations with third-party tools and SAP modules via SAP PI/PO or CPI.
* Troubleshoot interface-related issues to ensure smooth data flow between systems.
* Provide regular performance and system availability reports to stakeholders.
* Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, and business teams to support SAP operations.
* Provide technical guidance and support during system implementations or upgrades.
Key Skills and Competencies:
* Strong knowledge of SAP Basis administration, including system monitoring, job scheduling, and performance optimization.
* Proficiency in SAP tools and transaction codes like SM37, ST22, SM50, ST03, and DB02.
* Hands-on experience with databases (e.g., SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server) and operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows, Unix).
* Familiarity with SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and backup/recovery processes.
* Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager for monitoring and troubleshooting.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to handle technical issues.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, SAP BTP) is a plus.
* Experience with SAP Solution Manager and tools like Autosys or Automic Scheduler.
* SAP Basis Certification is a plus.
