Functional Tester (7-10 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Functional Tester with a strong background in Trade Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on experience in functional testing within the banking domain, specifically focusing on Trade Finance products and processes. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and debugging test scripts, ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications.

Responsibilities :

- Perform comprehensive functional testing of Trade Finance applications, ensuring adherence to business requirements and specifications.

- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on functional requirements.

- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.

- Conduct regression testing to ensure that new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.

- Perform end to end testing of Trade Finance workflows.

- Apply in-depth knowledge of Trade Finance products, processes, and regulations to ensure accurate and thorough testing.

- Understand and interpret Trade Finance documentation and specifications.

- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

- Develop and maintain detailed test scripts and test data.

- Execute test scripts and analyze test results.

- Debug test scripts and identify root causes of failures.

- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or similar.

- Verify API functionality and data integrity.

- Experience with REST API testing is a strong advantage.

- Write and execute basic SQL queries to validate data integrity and test results.

- Verify data stored in databases.

- Apply knowledge of general banking domain principles and practices.

- Understand SDLC within the banking sector.

- Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.

- Communicate test results and defect information to stakeholders.

- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on testing progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in functional testing within the banking domain.

- Hands-on experience in designing, executing, and debugging test scripts.

- Experience in API testing (REST API preferred).

- Proficiency in writing basic SQL queries.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with test management tools.

- Experience with defect tracking tools.

- Experience with automated testing tools.

- Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
