Job purpose

• Responsible to support the purchase department
• Responsible to support the factory logistics (consumables, raw materials and WIP)

Duties and responsibilities

1. Daily review and prompt action on purchase requests generated by ERP
2. Purchases of capital equipment, consumables and raw material (including forging, casting, and steel) from approved vendors
3. Sound knowledge of VAT, excise, and updated GST rules to maintain records as per statutory requirements
4. To ensure that all purchase requests are converted to purchase orders on daily basis with minimum lead time
5. Maintaining stock level and inventory control for consumables and manufacturing raw materials
6. Negotiation with vendors, suppliers, contractors and government bodies for competitive pricing and timely delivery
7. Close communication with production and planning team to actively maintain purchase plan and receipt of material
8. To act in case of delayed supplies or rejections such as arranging the material from other approved sources
9. To develop multiple vendors in order to avoid dependability on limited suppliers and to get material at competitive price and on-schedule delivery
10. To close Purchase Orders as per TAT
11. Manage the Factory Logistics including RM/consumables stores and WIP
12. Return of rejected products to jobbers & suppliers with proper documentation
13. Overseeing the release of GRN and payments to vendors in close coordination with accounts & stores team to increase satisfaction level of vendors and jobbers

Qualifications& allied requirements

B.Com Graduate, proficient and fast in Excel and PO Processing

Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and Bengali (Written & Oral)

Hands on exposure to ERP system (MM Module)

Good knowledge of Local Market Purchase.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in purchase preferably in a manufacturing industry
