• Server Installation & Configuration:
  Install, configure, and set up physical server hardware and related components (e.g., racks, switches, cables) in a data center environment.
• Hardware Maintenance:
  Perform routine hardware maintenance, including firmware upgrades, hardware diagnostics, and replacements of faulty components (e.g., power supplies, hard drives, memory).
• Troubleshooting & Repair:
  Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware-related issues related to servers, storage, networking equipment, and other infrastructure components.
• Server Monitoring & Performance Optimization:
  Monitor server performance metrics, perform capacity planning, and implement performance optimizations. Provide regular reports to ensure smooth operations.
• Data Center Management:
  Manage server racks, cabling, and equipment placement to ensure efficient use of space and energy. Perform physical audits of hardware inventory.
• Collaboration & Support:
  Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure the efficient and effective operation of physical infrastructure.
• Compliance & Documentation:
  Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for hardware configurations, installations, and changes. Ensure all hardware components are compliant with company policies and industry standards.
• Emergency Response:
  Act as a first responder to resolve any physical server-related outages, hardware failures, or other incidents.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco, Dell, HP, or other server certifications) are a plus.
• Experience:
  
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with physical server hardware, data center equipment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with server brands such as Dell, HP, Cisco, or IBM is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with server installation, networking, storage devices, and related technologies.
• Technical Skills:
  
• Expertise in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
• Experience with cable management, rack mounting, and server room best practices.
• Familiarity with server hardware (e.g., CPUs, RAM, storage, network interfaces, etc.), storage arrays, and related components.
