Introduction :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Developer to join our existing TPM Enterprise team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL) and have extensive experience working with very large data sets. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing databases to ensure high performance, scalability, and efficient data processing in an enterprise environment. Additionally, the candidate will implement integrations with customer data via APIs, leverage Azure SaaS applications, and adopt a DevOps approach to development and deployment.

Roles & Responsibilities :

Database Design & Development :

- Design and develop complex database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and views using MS SQL Server.

- Utilize advanced techniques to ensure that the database architecture is efficient, scalable, and optimized for performance, especially for very large datasets.

Stored Procedures & Database Optimization :

- Write and maintain complex stored procedures for data manipulation, reporting, and automation.

- Perform comprehensive database tuning and optimization, utilizing indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies to improve the efficiency of database performance and reduce execution times.

ETL Processes & Data Integration :

- Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to efficiently ingest, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources into the database.

- Implement integrations with customer data using APIs and flat files, and ensure data synchronization across systems.

Azure SaaS Applications :

- Develop and maintain applications deployed in the Azure environment, ensuring smooth integration between MS SQL databases and Azure SaaS-based solutions.

Data Quality & Integrity :

- Implement processes to maintain data integrity and consistency across databases and systems, ensuring reliable and accurate data for business use.

- Ensure data integrity and accuracy through testing and validation.

Collaboration & Mentoring :

- Work closely with development teams, data engineers, and business analysts to understand and fulfill data requirements.

- Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices for database development and optimization.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting :

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, performance problems, and data discrepancies.

- Utilize advanced debugging and diagnostic tools to pinpoint and address issues quickly.

Documentation & Reporting :

- Create clear and concise documentation for database structures, processes, and optimizations.

- Provide reports on database performance, query execution times, and ongoing optimization

efforts.

Additional Requirements :

Technical Expertise :

- Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server (2017 and above), SSIS, and extensive use of stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

- Advanced experience in database design, data modeling, and performance optimization for handling very large datasets.

- Expertise in integrating customer data via APIs and ensuring data synchronization between systems.

Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in database development, with a focus on MS SQL Server and large-scale data environments.

- Proven experience in database optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

- Experience working with cloud-based database solutions (particularly Azure).

- Experience with or knowledge of the CPG industry and familiarity with TPM (Trade Promotion Management) concepts is a plus.

- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and business analysts.

- Utilize ticket tracking tools to manage tasks, track progress, and communicate with stakeholders.

- Provide regular updates on ticket status and escalate issues as needed.
