Database Developer - SQL Server (4-6 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to design, develop, and optimize complex database schemas, SQL scripts, and related objects.

This role involves collaborating closely with stakeholders across data, design, product, and executive teams to address data-related technical challenges and drive efficient, high-performing database solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Database Design & Optimization : Design, develop, and optimize complex database schemas, SQL scripts, and objects to meet application functionality and performance requirements.

- Stakeholder Collaboration : Work with stakeholders across data, product, design, and executive teams to address and resolve data-related technical issues effectively.

- Technical Support for Data Solutions : Partner closely with application developers and business teams to ensure the successful design and delivery of data-driven solutions.

- Development & Release Process Implementation : Establish and implement best practices for product/project development and release, facilitating high-quality and rapid deployment.

- Data Integrity : Develop and implement solutions that promote data integrity across enterprise systems.

- Code Review Participation : Participate in code reviews, ensuring quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the code.

- Application Improvement : Collaborate with developers to enhance applications and establish best practices.

- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing : Publish documentation and contribute to collaborative information-sharing using internal tools.

Requirements :

- Database Architecture Expertise : Extensive experience in database architecture, especially in high-volume data environments.

- Analytical & Organizational Skills : Ability to analyze existing databases and client needs to develop effective data-driven solutions.

- Performance Tuning : Demonstrated expertise in query and server optimization using SQL tools and third-party solutions.

- Data Modeling & Design : Strong knowledge in data modeling, database design, and performance optimization for SQL, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.

- Business Needs Analysis : Skilled in analyzing complex business needs to design and develop solutions accordingly.

- SQL Server Expertise : Hands-on development experience with SQL Server 2016+ and SSIS.

- Troubleshooting : Strong experience in identifying and resolving data-related issues.

- Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.

- Performance Tuning Mastery : Expertise in tuning complex queries, procedures, and indexing strategies.

Nice to Have :

- ETL Monitoring & Tuning : Experience with ETL job tuning using metadata, variables, and parameters.

- Third-Party Tool Proficiency : Familiarity with performance tuning using third-party tools.

- Audit/Compliance Experience : Experience in regulated environments, with knowledge of audit and compliance requirements.

- Development Lifecycle Tools : Proficiency in Jira and Confluence as part of the development lifecycle.

- Business Intelligence Tools : Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, SSRS, or Power BI.

- Continuous Improvement : Understanding of continuous improvement processes.

- Version Control : Experience with Git.

Qualifications :

- Relational Database & SQL Expertise : Over 5 years of experience in relational databases and SQL.

- Creativity & Self-Management : Embody creativity, curiosity, initiative, and strong self-management skills.

- SQL Development : At least 4 years of experience coding complex SQL queries and stored procedures, with an ability to explain database performance tuning internals.

- Methodology Knowledge : Strong understanding of database development methodologies, including source control, continual improvement, release management, and Agile/Scrum practices.
