About Medi Assist:
- Medi Assist is the largest third-party benefits administrator for Health Insurance in India. It commands a market share of ~25% in the industry with the share in group premiums being upwards of 30%. It works with every single health insurance company in India and processes more than 80 lakh claims per year.
- The company has completed 4 acquisitions in the last 3 years and recently announced the acquisition of the largest competitor (Paramount) which is pending regulator approval. The company went public this year successfully and is unique in terms of having 80% public shareholding.
- It has a very well balanced and educated management team with the CEO, CTO, Head of Engineering, Head of Data Science and the Chief of Staff being IIT/IIM alumni.
About the role:
- Initially, the role would oversee and spearhead the integration of the proposed acquisition.
- This individual will lead cross-functional teams, work closely with senior leadership, and manage all aspects of the integration process, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives and goals of the merger.
- The role requires a strategic mindset, excellent project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
- Post the completion of integration, the individual shall transition to a business head role for a vertical within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive post-merger integration plan.
- Lead and coordinate all integration activities across functional areas (HR, IT, finance, operations, etc.).
- Identify key integration objectives, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Establish clear KPIs and success metrics to track progress.
Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with leadership teams from both companies to ensure alignment on goals and strategies.
- Serve as the main point of contact for integration-related inquiries.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Change Management:
- Develop change management strategies to address cultural, operational, and structural challenges.
- Lead employee communication efforts, ensuring smooth transitions and high morale.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the merger or acquisition.
Project Management:
- Oversee multiple workstreams simultaneously and ensure timely execution of the integration plan.
- Coordinate with department leads to ensure business continuity during the transition.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources related to the integration.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track integration progress and report regularly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Provide post-merger analysis to evaluate the success of the integration efforts.
- Adjust integration strategies as necessary based on feedback and performance data.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in post-merger integration, running large operations teams or corporate strategy.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in a corporate environment.
- Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong project management skills with experience in leading complex projects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of financial, operational, and legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
