Optometrist

Role & responsibilities

1. Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and ocular health.

2. Diagnose and treat visual problems such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and

presbyopia.

3. Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision aids as needed.

4. Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries (e.g., LASIK,

Cataract surgery).

5. Educate patients on proper eye care practices, contact lens hygiene, and overall eye

health.

6. Supervise and mentor junior optometrists and optometric assistants.

7. Ensure compliance with all clinical and ethical standards as set by organization.

8. Collaborate effectively with ophthalmologists, opticians, and other healthcare

professionals to provide coordinated patient care.

9. Stay current with advancements in optometric technology, treatments, and practices

through continuing education and professional development.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor/Master of Optometry degree from an accredited school of optometry.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience practicing optometry, with a demonstrated track

record of clinical excellence.

• Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills in optometric care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership experience preferred, including team management and mentorship.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
