Senior SQL Developer - Power BI (7-8 yrs)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Developer with expertise in Power BI and Azure Cloud Services to join our team on a contract basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database development, ETL processes, data modeling, and data visualization.

As a Senior SQL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, creating and managing Power BI reports and dashboards, and leveraging Azure Cloud Services for data storage and processing.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support business intelligence and reporting solutions.

- Design, implement, and maintain database schemas and tables to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval for reporting and analytics.

- Collaborate with data architects to ensure database structures are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Design, develop, and maintain efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move data from source systems to staging and target databases.

- Work with large datasets to transform and load data into Azure SQL Databases, Azure Data Lakes, and other cloud-based storage solutions.

- Implement automation of ETL workflows, ensuring smooth data migration and integration from multiple sources.

- Build and optimize data models to support Power BI reporting and dashboards, ensuring data is structured in a way that aligns with business requirements.

- Analyze data requirements and work closely with stakeholders to define and implement data models that meet business intelligence needs.

- Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data, providing insights for decision-making.

- Develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring they meet the reporting needs of the business and provide actionable insights.

- Integrate SQL Server, Azure, and other data sources into Power BI to create dynamic visualizations and reporting solutions.

- Implement best practices for data visualization, ensuring that reports are clear, impactful, and meet business goals.

- Ensure that Power BI reports are optimized for performance and can handle large datasets efficiently.

- Leverage Azure Cloud Services (including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage) to design and implement cloud-based data solutions.

- Ensure seamless integration of SQL databases with Azure-based analytics and reporting services for scalable, high-performance data storage and processing.

- Work with Azure Data Factory to create and manage data pipelines for ETL processes, automating the flow of data between systems.

Requirements :

- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer, with a focus on complex query writing, database design, and optimization.

- Extensive experience with Power BI for creating reports and dashboards, integrating data from various sources, and optimizing for performance.

- Proven experience with Azure Cloud Services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage.

- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing ETL processes, including transforming and loading large datasets from multiple sources into cloud-based storage solutions.

- Solid experience in data modeling and data analysis, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Strong proficiency in SQL (querying, stored procedures, functions, performance tuning).

- Experience with Power BI for building interactive, user-friendly reports and dashboards.

- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Technologies, specifically Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.

- Strong knowledge of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques.
