Job Description
- Review and interpret reinsurance treaty contracts to ensure accurate allocation of premiums and losses.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure all treaty terms and conditions are appropriately applied.
- Allocate risks to specific treaties based on coverage and policy terms.
- Maintain detailed records of treaty allocations for audit and compliance purposes.
- Calculate and allocate reinsurance premiums across various treaties and facultative placements.
- Ensure that premium splits and ceded premiums are in line with reinsurance contracts.
- Reconcile ceded premiums with financial records to ensure accuracy in accounting and reporting.
- Track reinsurance recoveries by analyzing loss data against reinsurance agreements.
- Submit claims to reinsurers and ensure timely recovery of reinsurance receivables.
- Prepare and issue reinsurance statements and invoices to reinsurers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Reconcile reinsurance accounts and provide financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements- 3+ years of experience in reinsurance operations, preferably in treaty reinsurance.
- Strong understanding of reinsurance treaties, premium allocation, and claims recovery processes.
- Proficiency in insurance/reinsurance software and financial systems.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with regulatory reporting requirements related to reinsurance.
- Should be able to work on SARB system
- 3+ years of experience in reinsurance operations, preferably in treaty reinsurance.
