Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager or Director to lead our Government advisory services for the textile and apparel sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business development, leading project delivery, building and mentoring a high-performing team, and positioning our firm as a trusted advisor within government and public sector entities. This role will manage the P&L of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development:

• Identify and pursue business opportunities within government and public sector entities related to the textile and apparel industry.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments, manufacturers, and industry associations.
• Create and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth and market penetration.

2. Project Delivery:

• Lead and oversee the delivery of advisory projects focused on policy advisory, investment promotion, project management (PMU), ESG initiatives etc.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting client expectations.
• Apply best practices and innovative solutions to address government and public sector challenges.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors, partners and other teams withing PwC to develop comprehensive solutions and ensure seamless project delivery.

3. Team Building and Leadership:

• Recruit, develop, and mentor a team of skilled consultants.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members.

4. Strategic Positioning:

• Position the firm as a trusted advisor within the government and public sector related to the textile and apparel industry.
• Develop thought leadership content, participate in industry forums, and represent the firm at key events.
• Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to enhance the firms visibility and reputation.

5. P&L Management:

• Manage the financial performance of the government advisory services portfolio.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial targets.
• Implement cost-effective strategies to maximise profitability and ensure sustainable growth.

6. Collaboration and Networking:

• Establish and maintain relationships with government departments, industry associations and relevant global organizations.
• Collaborate with other teams within PwC to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to leverage additional expertise and capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Public Policy, Sustainability or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in consulting, with a focus on government advisory services. Experience in government advisory services in the textile and apparel sector will be an added advantage.
• Experience of working with Ministry of Textiles and Government departments of major textile manufacturing States of India
• Proven track record in business development and managing client relationships.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
• Financial acumen with experience in managing P&L.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively mainly within India. Project requirements may need travel to Bangladesh and other target regions.
