Position: Manager/Sr. Manager - Business Development
A Business Development Manager in Makin will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of the company.
Job Description:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for Makin. This involves building and maintaining strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, understanding their needs, and presenting the Makin: capabilities and services as solutions. They are also involved in market research, competitive analysis, and developing strategies to expand Makin’s market share.
Responsibilities:
* Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and qualify potential companies through various channels, including networking, industry events, online research, and referrals.
* Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
* Needs Assessment: Understand clients' specific requirements and challenges related to drug development and manufacturing.
* Proposal Development: Prepare and present compelling proposals that highlight the CDMO's capabilities and value proposition.
* Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the CDMO.
* Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
* Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
* Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including scientific, technical, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution.
* Client Management: Manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
* Reporting: Track and report on business development activities, including leads, proposals, and contracts.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, pharmacy) or business administration.
* Proven track record in business development or sales, preferably selling products and services to stakeholders in marketing, sourcing & procurement functions in a pharmaceutical company.
* Strong understanding of the CDMO business model and drug development process.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Results-oriented and driven to achieve targets.
Additional Skills:
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements for drug development and manufacturing.
* Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
