Senior Design Engineer - BIW (Doors & Closures)

Job Responsibilities:

Designation: Senior Design Engineer (Doors & Closures) (CATIA / UGNX)

Role Purpose :

To provide technical guidance to the team members to deliver project specific outputs based on the work packages identified by team lead with expected level of quality and within acceptable timeframe,

Responsibilities:

• Should be able to generate new concepts/master sections Should have hands on experience in complete system e.g. Door, closures etc.

• Design and develop body-in-white (BIW) components such as doors, closures, tailgates, hoods using CATIA software.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets functional requirements and manufacturing constraints.

Key Performance Indicators:

Timely and accurate delivery Working discipline. Components and sub assembly ownership.

Role Requirement :

Educational Qualification:

BE / DME in Mechanical/production/automobile stream .

No. of years of work experience : If BE then 6- 9 years If DME then 8-11 years

Critical Skill Sets

• Software proficiency Catia/ Unigraphics
• Basic Vehicle architecture (monocoque, space frame, cab-on-frame) •
• Creation and understanding of master sections
• Joinery definitions and assembly sequence.
• Vehicle Manufacturing & Assembly Process
• Digital Mock Up (DMU)
• Communication skills
• Problem Solving
• Accountability
• Team Coordination
• Creative Thinking
• Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (D-FMEA)

Proficiency in languages:

English • Hindi • Regional / Native Language

Working experience on JLR process & products (Door & closure) will have added advantage / preference.
