Overview

Macmillan Education India is seeking an experienced Academic Manager to manage the academic delivery of a state-wide skilling initiative aimed at empowering unemployed youth in Tamil Nadu with Job readiness and English communication skills.

The initiative, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), will be executed through an identified vendor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct an initial briefing session for trainers to introduce the project goals, scope, and expectations.

2. Manage course delivery and assessment in a timely and effective manner

3. Ensure trainers submit progress reports and student attendance.

4. Ensure trainers are effectively utilizing resources and regularly document classroom activities (via videos, photos, attendance, etc.) and submit them to the project manager through weekly meetings.

5. Track and report student progress through pre- and post-training assessments to gauge impact.

6. Organize professional development workshops (Training of Trainers) for trainers on advanced teaching methodologies, communication skills, and industry trends.

7. Work closely with the trainers and vendor to resolve any major issues (e.g., trainer absenteeism, student dissatisfaction) and take corrective actions towards the same.

8. Collect student feedback on training delivery, trainer performance, and the relevance of the course material.

Educational Background:

1. Masters degree in English, Business Administration, Training certification, or a related field.

Experience:

1. 5-7 years of experience in academics particularly in the education and skill development sector.
2. Proven experience in managing large-scale training programs, preferably in employability and communication skills for youth.
3. Experience working with government initiatives or vendor management, especially in skill development and vocational training projects.

3. Interpersonal & Adaptability: Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse groups and adapting to changing project needs.
